American Mathematics Competition
Students compete with others across the country by taking a challenging exam demonstrating their mathematics skills and critical thinking. Each year, MHS students are invited to continue on for the American Invitational Mathematics Exam (AIME) and the USA Mathematical Olympiad (USAMO).

Algebra I Keystone
The end-of-course assessment for Algebra 1 currently designed to assess proficiencies in the Pennsylvania standards. 

• Actuarial Award - certificate given to the student who scores the highest on the AMC/MAA exams
• Computing Award by Rochester Institute of Technology - certificate and possible scholarship 
• Xerox Award for Innovation and Information Technology by the University of Rochester - certificate and possible scholarship

Methacton High School offers a robust selection of computer science courses designed to engage students at all levels.

• Introduction to Computer Science provides a foundation in programming using Python, ideal for beginners.
• Students can advance to AP Computer Science A, which focuses on object-oriented programming in Java, and AP Computer Science Principles, which explores broader computing concepts, including the internet, data, and societal impacts. 
• For those seeking more advanced study, Advanced Java Concepts deepens Java skills beyond the AP level.  
• Introduction to Cybersecurity introduces students to key principles of digital safety, ethics, and network security.
