Post Prom Volunteers

IMPORTANT! If you plan to volunteer for Post Prom please be aware that anyone who volunteer at the event where students are present must obtain their clearances. (Community Walkthrough, Set Design, Setup & Cleanup volunteers do NOT need to have active clearances, however, you still need to complete the Raptor Volunteer application).

• You should start this process no later than 2 weeks before Post Prom because it can take up to two weeks to get some of the results. 

• There is no cost to do this (unless you have not lived in Pennsylvania for at least 10 years). 

• If you have already done this within the past 5 years, you do not need to do it again until 5 years have passed.
   
• Some important things to keep in mind before you start your clearance process:
  • As a Post Prom volunteer, you are considered a "Position Volunteer" (not a "Guest Volunteer") for the clearance process.
  • As a Post Prom volunteer, you are eligible to submit a TB Test Waiver allowing you to forgo a TB test (more information below).

• Get Clearances! You will need to complete the following 4 steps BEFORE creating a Raptor account! (You will find links for each step on the Methacton Volunteer page)
  • Receive Act 34 - Pennsylvania Criminal History Background Check (Free for Volunteers)
  • Receive Act 151 - Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance (One free clearance for every 5 years for volunteers)
  • Submit the TB Test Waiver - As a Post Prom volunteer, you are not required to get a test.
  • Submit ONE of the following:
    •  Volunteer Affirmation Form (Choose this if you have lived in Pennsylvania for 10 or more consecutive years) 
    • OR: Complete Act 114: FBI Criminal Clearance Report. This costs $23.25. (Choose this *ONLY* if you have NOT lived in Pennsylvania for the last 10 consecutive years)

Once you have done the 4 steps above, go back to the Methacton Volunteer page ("Create Raptor Account" button below) to create your Raptor account. You will need the results of the 4 steps above to create your Raptor account, so do the 4 steps above first!

• Use the "Create Raptor Account" button below to go to the Methacton Volunteer page to process your clearances, then come back here to sign up using the info in the "EVENT SIGN UP" section below.

• YOU MUST BE 25 OR OLDER TO VOLUNTEER! (Except where noted on the sign up page)

• Event volunteers are required to wear a white shirt the night of Post Prom. You may simply wear your own white shirt or you can buy a Methacton Post Prom logo shirt for $15 at the Volunteer Training session on the 2nd Tuesday in April or on-site when you check-in at Post Prom.

• ON A MOBILE DEVICE? Please note, the sign-up page is MUCH easier to read on a tablet, than a phone - or even better, on a desktop or laptop

• There are MANY types of positions on three different days with MANY timeslots. They range from set up Thursday through clean up Saturday. So, we suggest you look through all of them before making your selection(s). Make sure you are selecting the day, time & position that you really want. You may sign up for one or more slots. (Just make sure they don't overlap).

• Sign up will close 2 weeks before Post Prom, in order to make sure all volunteers are cleared.

• Use the "Sign Up Now" button below to see the list of open positions, position descriptions and to sign up!

• Please be sure to wear a white shirt to make it easy to identify who is a volunteer.  You may wear your own white shirt or purchase a Post Prom volunteer shirt for $15 at the Post Prom volunteer meeting in April or upon arrival at the volunteer check-in.
• FOR 10pm-5am SHIFT VOLUNTEERS:
  • Arrive 15 minutes before your shift begins
  • Park down by the track and bus garage. We need to keep the upper parking lot open for students. (See map below, Number 1)
  • Enter via the volunteer entrance. (See map below, Letter C)
  • Get a nametag and wristband as you sign in at volunteer sign-in table.
  • Pick up your T shirt (if you pre-ordered) or T shirts for sale for $15 via Venmo or EXACT change
  • Report to your assigned area. There will be a map of the school at the volunteer check-in for your reference
  • Check in with the Area chairperson for assignment.
  • At the conclusion of your shift, return the nametag at the volunteer sign-in location.
• VOLUNTEER BREAK ROOM:  There will be plenty of food, water, coffee and soft drinks available to you free of charge all night long in the volunteer break room (A132). Room A132 is near the student cafeteria and Post Prom Coffee House. If you’re facing the Coffee House, turn right and Room A132 will be on the left side at the end of that hallway. 

NOTE: Please do not leave the break room with food or drink. If needed, you may bring a water bottle with a cap back to your assignment location. We’re trying to avoid liquid spills!

• FOR SETUP/CLEANUP VOLUNTEERS ONLY:
  • Park by the East Wing Entrance (See map below, Number 3)
  • Enter via the setup/cleanup entrance. (See map below, Letter D)
  • Check in with the setup/cleaning chairperson for assignment.
• FOR COMMUNITY WALKTHROUGH VOLUNTEERS ONLY:
  • Arrive 5:45pm
  • Park near the near the main entrance (See map below, Nu)
  • Enter via the Main Entrance (See map below, Letter A).
  • Check in with the Walkthrough chairperson for assignment.
